Liebe Mitglieder und Sympathisanten von AHA Lëtzebuerg,

Wir hoffen es geht Ihnen gut und freuen uns Ihnen die Juni 2023 Newsletter präsentieren zu dürfen in der wir einen Rückblick auf das erste Halbjahr werfen.

1. Vergangene Ereignisse und Pressemitteilungen

In den letzten Monaten, seit unserem letzten Newsletter im Dezember 2022, ist folgendes passiert:

  • 01/01/2023 – Start unserer online Aktion #Wissenschaftskalender auf unserer Facebook Seite. In Zusammenarbeit mit ASUR (Asociatia Secular-Umanista din Romania - https://www.facebook.com/secularumanisti), der säkular-humanistischen Vereinigung in Rumänien, wollten wir den Calendarul Științific, Rumänisch für wissenschaftlicher Kalender, auch in Luxemburg bekannt machen. Der Calendarul Științific wird seit 2010 jährlich von ASUR herausgegeben. Es ist ein großartiges Projekt, das Forscher*innen und wissenschaftliche Entdeckungen, die unser Leben verändert haben, bekannt macht. Wir haben seit dem 1. Januar einen Eintrag pro Tag, auf Deutsch übersetzt, auf unserer Facebook Seite publiziert. Wir hofften, dass dadurch viele Menschen in Luxemburg angeregt würden, sich über die eine oder andere wissenschaftliche Entdeckung oder die eine Wissenschaftlerin oder den anderen Wissenschaftler weiter zu informieren. Weil das Echo auf diese Aktion in Luxemburg allerdings recht bescheiden ausgefallen ist, haben wir am 8. Juni den letzten Eintrag gemacht. Eventuell nehmen wir dieses Projekt für 2024 wieder in Angriff und überlegen uns eine andere Strategie, damit es dieses Mal ein Erfolg wird.
  • 03/02/2023 – Teilnahme am Webinar „Seit 171 Jahren humanistische Jugendfeiern“ unserer Kolleg*innen vom HVD Nordrhein-Westfalen, wo Dieter Grützner des HVD Köln die Geschichte und Entwicklung der humanistischen Jugendfeiern in Deutschland erläutert und erklärt hat. Es war ein sehr inspirierender Vortrag.
  • 11/02/2023 – Online-Treffen mit Leo Igwe über eine Partnerschaft zur Förderung des kritischen Denkens in Nigeria. Wir haben anschließend beschlossen Leo’s Stiftung finanziell zu unterstützen und mit ihr zusammenzuarbeiten.   • 02/03/2023 – Teilnahme am online Treffen des European Policy Forums (EPF). Das EPF ist die neue Struktur innerhalb unseres globalen Dachverbandes Humanists International welche die Lobbyarbeit der vor kurzem aufgelösten European Humanist Federation übernommen hat. Ziel des EPF ist es unsere Interessenten bei den europäischen Institutionen zu vertreten und zu verteidigen. Es wird geleitet von Tania Giacomuzzi Mota, European Advocacy Officer. Am 2. März wurde hauptsächlich festgehalten, dass wir gemeinsam ein „European Humanist Pledge“ ausarbeiten werden, welches im Rahmen der EU-Wahlen im Jahr 2024 benutzt werden wird um Politiker*innen für die Belange von Humanist*innen zu sensibilisieren. In Zukunft soll auch einmal pro Jahr ein Treffen der Mitgliedsorganisationen stattfinden wo wir über unsere gemeinsame Lobbyarbeit auf europäischen Niveau diskutieren.
  • 09/03/2023 – AHA Luxemburg unterzeichnet ein Partnership Agreement mit Humanists International und beteiligt sich somit am European Capacity Building und Networking Project dessen Ziel es ist zusammen mit unseren Partnerorganisationen aus ganz Europa humanistische Zeremonien und Dienstleistungen aufzubauen.
  • 23/03/2023 – Generalversammlung im Café Littéraire Le Bovary. Das Jahr 2022 wurde mit einem Minus von rund 14.000 € abgeschlossen, da wir eine größere Ausgabe hatten: die Repräsentative Umfrage zur Religiosität in Luxemburg. Wir können aber weiterhin auf ausreichende Finanzmittel zurückgreifen, um diverse Aktionen und Veranstaltungen zu organisieren. Zwei neue Kandidaturen als Mitglieder im Vorstand wurden einstimmig angenommen: Tanja Frank und Alexandre Hornbeck.
  • 27/03/2023 – Teilnahme am Seminar des STATEC „Religiosité et spiritualité au Luxembourg“. Dort wurde darüber berichtet, dass es in Luxemburg einen klaren Rückgang der religiösen Praktiken gibt, parallel zu einer Zunahme der „alternativen Spiritualitäten“.   • 30/03/2023 – Informelles Treffen mit der ASBL RESPECT.LU rund um das Thema "Druck religiöser Eltern auf Kinder und Jugendliche". Im Herbst soll eine Veranstaltung zu dem Thema stattfinden, wo Vertreter von AHA teilnehmen sollen.
  • 31/03/2023 – Treffen des European Humanist Professionals Networks (EHPN) in Rome, Italien. Pol Wirtz hat AHA dort vertreten. Wir werden in Zukunft mit unseren Partnerorganisationen verstärkt zusammenarbeiten um humanistische Feierkultur bekannter zu machen und uns an den « best practices » anderer Organisationen zu inspirieren.   • 11/04/2023 – Online-Treffen mit SOCHNepal (https://sochnepal.org), der humanistischen Organisation in Nepal. Sie haben uns ihre Projekte zur Bekämpfung gefährlicher religiöser Traditionen. Wir werden in Zukunft diese Projekte finanziell unterstützen, um unseren Beitrag zum Schutz elementarer Menschenrechte weltweilt zu leisten.
  • 02/05/2023 – Webinar „ReLÜGion“ mit Wilmar Thieman. Herr Thiemann stellte uns sein spannendes Buch vor und wir haben zusammen diskutiert inwiefern "die Vertreter der christlichen Kirchen wider besseres Wissen ihren Glauben bekennen und die christliche Botschaft verkünden" bzw. welche Lügen sie seit geraumer Zeit verbreiten. Die Videoaufzeichnung dieses Webinars finden Sie hier : https://vimeo.com/manage/videos/823299786
  • 20/05/2023 – Jubiläumsfeier zu 13 Jahre AHA Lëtzebuerg. Neben Rückblick in die Vergangenheit und Ausblick in die Zukunft war das Kernstück unserer Feier ein Rundtischgespräch zum Thema „"Wat soll dee Schäiss? Orientéierung an enger Welt voller Onsécherheeten a Krisen" mit Serge Allegrezza, Katy Fox, Lukas Held, Paul Rauchs, und Nora Schleich, welche moderiert wurde von Nathalie Reuter. Wir haben vor Kurzem einen Rückblick auf diese Feier in unserer Radiosendung „Iwwer Gott an d’Welt“ auf Radio ARA gemacht. Sie können diese hier hören: https://www.aha.lu/index.php/news/podcast.   • 13/06/2023 – Online-Treffen des EPF. Hier wurde hauptsächlich die Planung des Humanist Pledge für die EU-Wahlen 2024 präsentiert und diskutiert. Die Idee ist es Kandidat*innen für die EU-Wahlen nächstes Jahr dazu zu bringen sich zu humanistischen Werten zu bekennen und zu verpflichten.

  • 21/06/2023 – Welthumanistentag. Dieses Jahr hatten wir keine besondere Aktivität zum Anlass des Welthumanistentages geplant. Wir haben aber diverse Posts auf unserer Facebook Seite dazu gemacht. 2. Kommende Veranstaltungen und Aktionen

Für die kommenden Wochen und Monate planen wir folgende Veranstaltungen und Aktionen:

  • Am 6. Juli 2023 um 18:00 Uhr findet wieder ein Café Humaniste statt. Wir werden uns mit dem Thema "Ee néit Betriebssystem fir eise Geescht?" beschäftigen. Nach einem kurzen Impulsreferat von Mireille Cruchten über das Buch "Waking up" von Sam Harris diskutieren wir frei über das Thema. Wir treffen uns auf der Terrasse der Buvette des Rotondes (3, Place des Rotondes, L‑2448 Luxembourg-Bonnevoie).
  • Wer Lust hat selbst ein Thema für ein Café Humaniste vorzuschlagen soll sich gerne bei uns melden: Diese E-Mail-Adresse ist vor Spambots geschützt!   • Wir werden weiterhin unsere „neue“ Radiosendung auf Radio ARA „Iwwer Gott an d’Welt“ einmal pro Monat produzieren und ausstrahlen. Diese kann seit geraumer Zeit auch als Podcast über die üblichen Platformen und Apps abonniert werden. 
  • Darüber hinaus planen wir eine öffentliche Konferenz mit Prof. Dr Josée Junça de Morais zum Thema „Alphabetisierung und Demokratie“. Voraussichtlich soll diese im Herbst 2023 stattfinden. Weitere Details werden wir so bald wie möglich bekanntgeben.
  • 2025 wird AHA Lëtzebuerg die Generalversammlung von Humanists International in Luxemburg. Wer Lust hat sich an der Organisation dieser größeren Veranstaltung zu beteiligen, soll sich gerne bei uns melden: Diese E-Mail-Adresse ist vor Spambots geschützt! 4. Radio Sendung „Iwwer Gott an d’Welt“ auf Radio ARA

Seit dem 17. Mai 2022 hat AHA Lëtzebuerg eine Radiosendung auf Radio ARA, die jeden 3. Dienstag im Monat ausgestrahlt wird. In dieser Sendung wird "Iwwer Gott an d’Welt" geredet. Lex und Bob beleuchten verschieden Themen durch die Brille des weltlichen Humanismus. Hier eine Liste der letzten Episoden:

  • Episode #13: La psychologie de la vaccination - 16. Mee 2023 - Entretien avec Olivier Klein, professeur de psychologie sociale à l’Université libre de Bruxelles, sur la “psychologie de la vaccination”. Nous avons discuté des processus psychiques, sociaux et culturels susceptibles d’alimenter l’hésitation vaccinale, mais aussi des moyens pour augmenter la couverture vaccinale des populations réticentes.

Nous espérons que vous allez bien et sommes heureux de vous présenter la newsletter de juin 2023 dans laquelle nous faisons une rétrospective du premier semestre.

1. Événements passés et communiqués de presse

Voici ce qui s'est passé au cours des derniers mois, depuis notre dernière newsletter en décembre 2022:
  • 01/01/2023 - Lancement de notre action en ligne #CalendrierScientifiquesur notre page Facebook. En collaboration avec ASUR (Asociatia Secular-Umanista din Romania - https://www.facebook.com/secularumanisti), l'association humaniste laïque en Roumanie, nous avons voulu faire connaître le Calendarul Științific, roumain pour calendrier scientifique, également au Luxembourg. Le Calendarul Științific est publié chaque année par l'ASUR depuis 2010. C'est un projet formidable qui fait connaître les chercheuses et chercheurs et les découvertes scientifiques qui ont changé notre vie. Depuis le 1er janvier, nous avons publié une entrée par jour, traduite en allemand, sur notre page Facebook. Nous espérions que cela inciterait de nombreuses personnes au Luxembourg à s'informer davantage sur l'une ou l'autre découverte scientifique ou sur l'un ou l'autre scientifique. Comme l'écho de cette action au Luxembourg a été plutôt modeste, nous avons fait notre dernière entrée le 8 juin. Nous reprendrons éventuellement ce projet pour 2024 et réfléchirons à une autre stratégie pour que cette fois-ci, ce soit un succès.
  • 03/02/2023 - Participation au webinaire "Seit 171 Jahren humanistische Jugendfeiern"de nos collègues du HVD Nordrhein-Westfalen, où Dieter Grützner du HVD Köln a expliqué et retracé l'histoire et le développement des célébrations humanistes de la jeunesse en Allemagne. Ce fut une conférence très inspirante.
  • 11/02/2023 - Rencontre en ligne avec Leo Igwe au sujet d'un partenariat pour la promotion de la pensée critique au Nigeria. Nous avons ensuite décidé de soutenir financièrement la fondation de Leo et de collaborer avec elle. Vous trouverez plus d'informations dans l'épisode 12 de notre émission de radio (https://www.aha.lu/index.php/news/podcast), où nous nous sommes entretenus avec Leo.
  • 02/03/2023 - Participation à la réunion en ligne du European Policy Forum (EPF). Le EPF est la nouvelle structure au sein de notre organisation faîtière mondiale, Humanists International, qui a repris le travail de lobbying de la Fédération Humaniste Européenne récemment dissoute. L'objectif du EPFest de représenter et de défendre nos intérêts auprès des institutions européennes. Il est dirigé par Tania Giacomuzzi Mota, European Advocacy Officer. Le 2 mars, il a été convenu que nous élaborerions ensemble un "European Humanist Pledge", qui sera utilisé dans le cadre des élections européennes de 2024 pour sensibiliser les politiciens aux intérêts des humanistes. A l'avenir, une réunion des organisations membres aura lieu une fois par an pour discuter de notre travail de lobbying commun au niveau européen.
  • 09/03/2023 - AHA Luxembourg signe un accord de partenariat avec Humanists International et participe ainsi au European Capacity Building and Networking Project dont le but est de développer des cérémonies et des services humanistes avec nos organisations partenaires de toute l'Europe.
  • 23/03/2023 - Assemblée générale au Café Littéraire Le Bovary. L'année 2022 s'est terminée avec un déficit d'environ 14.000 €, car nous avons eu une dépense importante: l'enquête représentative sur la religiosité au Luxembourg. Nous pouvons cependant toujours compter sur des moyens financiers suffisants pour organiser diverses actions et manifestations. Deux nouvelles candidatures en tant que membres du comité directeur ont été acceptées à l'unanimité: Tanja Frank et Alexandre Hornbeck.
  • 27/03/2023 - Participation au séminaire du STATEC "Religiosité et spiritualité au Luxembourg". Il y a été fait état d'un net recul des pratiques religieuses au Luxembourg, parallèlement à une augmentation des "spiritualités alternatives".   • 30/03/2023 - Réunion informelle avec l'ASBL RESPECT.LU autour du thème "Pression des parents religieux sur les enfants et les jeunes". Un événement sur ce thème devrait avoir lieu à l'automne, avec la participation de représentants de l'AHA.
  • 31/03/2023 - Réunion du Réseau européen des professionnels humanistes (EHPN) à Rome, Italie. Pol Wirtz y a représenté AHA. A l'avenir, nous collaborerons davantage avec nos organisations partenaires afin de faire connaître la culture de la fête humaniste et de nous inspirer des "meilleures pratiques" d'autres organisations.   • 11/04/2023 - Rencontre en ligne avec SOCHNepal (https://sochnepal.org), l'organisation humaniste au Népal. Ils nous ont présenté leurs projets de lutte contre les traditions religieuses dangereuses. Nous soutiendrons financièrement ces projets à l'avenir afin d'apporter notre contribution à la protection des droits humains élémentaires dans le monde entier.
  • 02/05/2023 - Webinaire "ReLÜGion" avec Wilmar Thieman. M. Thiemann nous a présenté son livre passionnant et nous avons discuté ensemble de la manière dont "les représentants des églises chrétiennes professent leur foi et annoncent le message chrétien contre toute évidence" et des mensonges qu'ils propagent depuis un certain temps.   • 20/05/2023 - Fête d'anniversaire pour les 13 ans de AHA Lëtzebuerg. Outre une rétrospective du passé et des perspectives d'avenir, l'élément central de notre fête était une table ronde sur le thème ""Wat soll dee Schäiss ? Orientation dans un monde plein d'incertitudes et de crises" avec Serge Allegrezza, Katy Fox, Lukas Held, Paul Rauchs, et Nora Schleich, animée par Nathalie Reuter.   • 13/06/2023 - Réunion en ligne du EPF. Ici, la planification du Humanist Pledge pour les élections européennes de 2024 a été principalement présentée et discutée. L'idée est d'amener les candidats aux élections européennes de l'année prochaine à s'engager à respecter les valeurs humanistes.
  • 13/06/2023 - Communiqué de presse: AHA Lëtzebuerg soutient la pétition demandant l'interdiction des certificats de virginité.   • 21/06/2023 - Journée mondiale des humanistes. Cette année, nous n'avions pas prévu d'activité particulière à l'occasion de la Journée mondiale de l'humanisme. Nous avons toutefois publié plusieurs messages à ce sujet sur notre page Facebook. 2. Événements et actions à venir

Pour les semaines et mois à venir, nous prévoyons les événements et actions suivants : 

  • Un nouveau Café Humaniste aura lieu le 6 juillet 2023 à 18h00. Nous nous pencherons sur le thème "Ee néit Betriebssystem fir eise Geescht?". Après un bref exposé introductif de Mireille Cruchten sur le livre "Waking up" de Sam Harris, nous discuterons librement de ce thème. Nous nous retrouverons sur la terrasse de la Buvette des Rotondes (3, Place des Rotondes, L 2448 Luxembourg-Bonnevoie).
  • Si vous avez envie de proposer un thème pour un Café Humaniste, n'hésitez pas à nous contacter: Diese E-Mail-Adresse ist vor Spambots geschützt! Zur Anzeige muss JavaScript eingeschaltet sein.. Il n'est pas toujours nécessaire que ce soit un livre qui donne lieu à une discussion, il peut aussi s'agir d'une pièce de théâtre, d'une série télévisée ou d'un film.

  • Nous continuerons bien sûr à produire et à diffuser notre "nouvelle" émission radio sur Radio ARA "Iwwer Gott an d'Welt" une fois par mois. Depuis un certain temps, il est également possible de s'y abonner sous forme de podcast via les plateformes et les applications habituelles.
  • En outre, nous prévoyons une conférence publique avec le professeur Josée Junça de Morais sur le thème "Alphabétisation et démocratie". Elle devrait avoir lieu à l'automne 2023. Nous communiquerons plus de détails dès que possible.

4. Émission radio "Iwwer Gott an d'Welt" sur Radio ARA

Depuis le 17 mai 2022, AHA Lëtzebuerg a une émission de radio sur Radio ARA, diffusée chaque 3e mardi du mois. Dans cette émission, on parle "Iwwer Gott an d'Welt". Lex et Bob abordent différents thèmes à travers le prisme de l'humanisme séculaire. Voici une liste des derniers épisodes:

Nous avons discuté des processus psychiques, sociaux et culturels susceptibles d’alimenter l’hésitation vaccinale, mais aussi des moyens pour augmenter la couverture vaccinale des populations réticentes.

We hope you are well and are pleased to present the June 2023 Newsletter in which we take a look back at the first half of the year.

1. Past events and press releases

In the last few months, since our last newsletter in December 2022, the following has happened:

  • 01/01/2023 - Launch of our online action #ScienceCalendar on our Facebook page. In collaboration with ASUR (Asociatia Secular-Umanista din Romania - https://www.facebook.com/secularumanisti), the secular-humanist association in Romania, we wanted to promote the Calendarul Științific, Romanian for scientific calendar, also in Luxembourg. The Calendarul Științific has been published annually by ASUR since 2010. It is a great project that publicises researchers and scientific discoveries that have changed our lives. We have published one entry per day, translated into German, on our Facebook page since 1 January. We hoped that this would encourage many people in Luxembourg to find out more about one scientific discovery or another, or about one scientist or another. However, because the response to this action in Luxembourg was quite modest, we made the last entry on 8 June. We may take up this project again for 2024 and think about a different strategy to make it a success this time.
  • 03/02/2023 – Participation at the webinar "Seit 171 Jahren humanistische Jugendfeiern" by our colleagues from the HVD Nordrhein-Westfalen, where Dieter Grützner of the HVD Köln described and explained the history and development of humanist youth celebrations in Germany. It was a very inspiring lecture.
  • 11/02/2023 - Online meeting with Leo Igwe about a partnership to promote critical thinking in Nigeria. We subsequently decided to financially support and partner with Leo's foundation. More info can be found in Episode 12 of our radio show (https://www.aha.lu/index.php/news/podcast) where we spoke to Leo.
  • 02/03/2023 - Attended the online meeting of the European Policy Forum (EPF). The EPF is the new structure within our global umbrella organisation Humanists International which has taken over the lobbying work of the recently disbanded European Humanist Federation. The EPF aims to represent and defend our interests with the European institutions. It is led by Tania Giacomuzzi Mota, European Advocacy Officer. On 2 March, it was mainly agreed that we will jointly draft a "European Humanist Pledge", which will be used in the context of the EU elections in 2024 to sensitise politicians to the concerns of humanists. In the future, a physical meeting of the member organisations will also take place once a year where we will discuss our joint lobbying work on a European level.
  • 09/03/2023 - AHA Luxembourg signs a Partnership Agreement with Humanists International and joins the European Capacity Building and Networking Project which aims to build humanist ceremonies and services together with our partner organisations from all over Europe. 23/03/2023 - General Assembly at Café Littéraire Le Bovary. The year 2022 ended with a deficit of around €14,000, as we had a major expense: the Representative Survey on Religiosity in Luxembourg. However, we can still rely on sufficient funds to organise various actions and events. Two new candidacies as members of the board were unanimously accepted: Tanja Frank and Alexandre Hornbeck.
  • 27/03/2023 - Participation in the STATEC seminar "Religiosité et spiritualité au Luxembourg. There it was reported that there is a clear decrease of religious practices in Luxembourg, parallel to an increase of "alternative spiritualities".   • 30/03/2023 - Informal meeting with ASBL RESPECT.LU  around the topic "Pressure of religious parents on children and young people. An event on the topic is to be held in the autumn, where representatives of AHA are to participate.
  • 31/03/2023 - Meeting of the European Humanist Professionals Network (EHPN) in Rome, Italy. Pol Wirtz represented AHA there. We will work more with our partner organisations in the future to promote humanist celebration culture and to draw inspiration from the best practices of other organisations.   • 11/04/2023 - Online meeting with SOCHNepal (https://sochnepal.org) , the humanist organisation in Nepal. They presented us their projects to combat dangerous religious traditions. We will support these projects financially in the future to do our bit to protect basic human rights around the world.
  • 02/05/2023 - Webinar "ReLÜGion" with Wilmar Thieman. Mr. Thiemann presented his exciting book and we discussed together to what extent "the representatives of the Christian churches profess their faith and proclaim the Christian message against their better knowledge" and what lies they have been spreading for a long time.   • 20/05/2023 - Anniversary celebration of 13 years of AHA Lëtzebuerg. Besides looking back to the past and forward to the future, the centrepiece of our celebration was a roundtable discussion on ""Wat soll dee Schäiss? Orientéierung an enger Welt voller Onsécherheeten a Krisen" with Serge Allegrezza, Katy Fox, Lukas Held, Paul Rauchs, and Nora Schleich, which was moderated by Nathalie Reuter.   • 13/06/2023 - Online meeting of the EPF. The main topic presented and discussed was the planning of the Humanist Pledge for the 2024 EU elections. The idea is to get candidates for the EU elections next year to declare and commit themselves to humanist values.

  • 21/06/2023 - World Humanist Day. This year we had no special activity planned to mark World Humanist Day. However, we have made several posts on our Facebook page about it. 2. Upcoming events and actions

We are planning the following events and actions for the coming weeks and months:

  • On 6 July 2023 at 18:00 there will be another Café Humaniste. We will be looking at the theme "Ee néit operating system fir eise Geescht?". After a short impulse talk by Mireille Cruchten about the book "Waking up" by Sam Harris, we will freely discuss the topic. We will meet on the terrace of the Buvette des Rotondes (3, Place des Rotondes, L 2448 Luxembourg-Bonnevoie).

  • We will continue to produce and broadcast our "new" radio programme on Radio ARA "Iwwer Gott an d'Welt" once a month. For some time now, this can also be subscribed to as a podcast via the usual platforms and apps. 
  • In addition, we are planning a public conference with Prof. Dr Josée Junça de Morais on the topic of "Literacy and Democracy". This is expected to take place in autumn 2023. Further details will be announced as soon as possible.

4. Radio programme “Iwwer Gott an d’Welt” on Radio ARA

Since 17 May 2022, AHA Lëtzebuerg has a radio programme on Radio ARA, which is broadcast every 3rd Tuesday of the month. In this programme they talk about "Iwwer Gott an d'Welt". Lex and Bob look at various topics through the lens of secular humanism. Here is a list of recent episodes:
